Why I build on Sanity and Vercel

Two tools do quiet work behind every site I build: Sanity, so you control your own content, and Vercel, so your site stays fast and online. Here is what they are, in plain terms.

When I build a site, two pieces do a lot of quiet work behind the scenes: a content system called Sanity and a hosting platform called Vercel. You will never have to think about either one. But since I am the one putting your business online, you deserve to know what I am building on and why.

Sanity: you control your own words and photos

A content management system (CMS) is just the dashboard where the words, photos, prices, and hours of your site live. I use one called Sanity. The reason is simple. I want you to be able to change anything on your site yourself, in a clean dashboard, with no code and no waiting on me to do it.

Need to swap a photo, update your hours for a holiday, or fix a price? You log in, change it, and it is live. You are not stuck filing a request and hoping I get to it that day. The site is yours, and so is the control over what it says.

It is also built so your content is portable. If you ever wanted to leave, you could take everything with you. I am not interested in locking anyone in.

Vercel: hosting that stays fast and online

Hosting is where your site actually lives so the world can reach it. I use Vercel. It serves your site from locations all over the world, so a page loads fast whether the customer is across town or across the country. Speed matters more than people think. A slow site loses visitors before they ever see what you offer, and search engines quietly push slow sites down.

Vercel is also reliable and handles traffic spikes without breaking a sweat. If you get featured somewhere and a rush of people show up at once, the site stays up. I am not going to promise you that a website never has a hiccup, because nobody honest can. What I can say is that this is a solid, well-run platform, and I keep an eye on it.

The short version

Sanity puts you in control of your content. Vercel keeps the site fast and online. Together they let me hand you a website that you own and can run, instead of one you are renting and cannot touch. That is exactly the kind of setup I would want if I were the business owner, so it is what I build.
